Heritage Double Glazing Package

Summary

Are you looking for the benefits of double glazing but don’t want to compromise on the look and slim proportions of a traditional sash window?

At HRG Service Ltd, we specialise in converting single paned wooden windows into slim double glazed sash windows using our 12mm sash window double glazing units.

Our units are ultra slim meaning that from a distance they still appear to be single glazed sash windows and therefore in keeping with your property.

Once beaded or puttied in our units will still appear to be single glazed glass thus keeping the traditional look but with all the benefits of modern double glazing.  Our units achieve a 1.9UV, couple this with draught proofing and the benefits are instantly noticeable.

Should our clients wish to have slim sash window double glazing then we offer two ways to achieve this.  We will advise our customers of the best options for their particular project on our site survey.

Please take time to view our references and see what our customers think about us and the benefits they have gained from our services.  For new clients wishing to see a completed project or speak with a previous client please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Existing

Our first option would be to modify your existing sashes and install directly into them.  This is achieved by routing back your existing sashes to allow enough room for our sash window double glazing units to be fitted.

Our Heritage Double Glazing package includes:

  • On site survey to discuss your requirements
  • Detailed measurements are taken of the new glass sizes that will be needed to directly install into your existing sashes
  • Once the sashes are removed from the frames we will carefully route back the required depth to accommodate the new glazing on site
  • We then install the new 12mm Heritage glazing 1.9UV into the sashes using our established methods
  • The glazing will then be bead faced, fill and caulked in
  • The beading only will then be painted to provide protection
  • This package requires that our restoration and draught proof packages are chosen
New sashes

The second option is to manufacture new sashes to match your existing ones with the same slim profiles, glazing bars and look, fitted with our slim double glazing installed in them.  We would then replace your old sashes for the new ones.

Our New Slim Double Glazed Sash package includes:

  • On site survey to discuss your requirements
  • Detailed measurements are taken of the existing sashes
  • We then manufacture sashes to match your existing sashes at our workshops using traditional joinery methods
  • Options for softwood and hardwood are available
  • Sashes will have our 12mm Heritage double glazing installed into them will a 1.9UV
  • Sashes will be bead face, and up to an undercoat stage ready for deliver to site
  • Once on site sashes can be hang and draught proofed (Please see draught proof package)
  • Ready for painting by others

“We recently brought a holiday cottage in Dorset with many lovely original features. The sash windows were a lovely feature but in various states of disrepair and extremely draughty . We ‘googled’ various window companies wanting someone who could address the issues but save the features we loved so much. Many quotes were confusing and advice on double glazing conflicting. David at The Heritage & Restoration Group gave us clear reliable, detailed information and a definite time scale to work to. We decided to go with them and we are delighted with the results. From inspection for quoting to completion The Heritage & Restoration Group have been professional, informative and reliable and the finished product is outstanding, beyond our expectations. We now have a cosy cottage that has lost none of its charms.”

“David and his team restored 12 very old unusable sash windows for us and we are delighted with the result. We now have lovely windows, in keeping with the house, that still have the original look but with modern glazing and draft proofing. A very friendly and helpful company.”
